Principal Engineer, Andrew J. Romance, P.E. has over 30 years in civil engineering. From his work on the largest power plant in the United States under control of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, to his work on expanding local soccer fields under the watchful eye of concerned families, he as gained experience in both technologically advanced engineering methods, as well as experience in being a teammate to communities striving to develop basic infrastructure for its citizens. Mr. Romance has managed, designed, and certified proper construction of water, wastewater, stormwater, multi-modal transportation, and real estate development projects that comply with federal, state, county, and municipal standards. - Engineered improvements to approximately 400 miles of paved roadway including local streets, rural highways, and urban freeways.
- Performed hydrologic stormwater analysis of approximately 275 watersheds, providing corresponding hydraulic stormwater conveyance and erosion control designs.
- Detailed hydraulic pressure analyses using computer modeling for existing and new reclaimed water distribution systems for irrigation and potable water distribution systems for consumption and fire protection.
- Conducted wastewater treatment alternative studies. Sited and specified configuration of approximately 8 new treatment facilities.
- Engineered approximately 50 sewer collection extension projects and 9 wastewater lift stations.
- Engineered approximately 75 water distribution expansion projects and 20 pressure booster stations.
- Site engineering and development program management of over 2,000,000 square feet of floor space in commercial, industrial, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and recreation buildings.
- Land development planning and engineering of approximately 12,000 acres, creating new residential communities, retail shopping centers, sports complexes, golf courses, airports, marinas, RV parks, healthcare facilities, educational campuses, places of worship, entertainment venues, and public gathering spaces.
- Author of Scopes of Services and Request for Qualifications/Proposals of consultants and contractors.
- Coordinated project teams that included Utility Companies, Surveyors, Contractors, Suppliers, Land Developers, Geologists, Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Instrumentation Engineers, Structural Engineers, CADD/Mapping Technicians, Testing Laboratories, Environmental Consultants, and Citizen Advisory Groups.
- Authored Operations and Maintenance Manual documents, satisfying standards for safety of personnel and longterm performance of facilities.
- FEMA certified in Disaster Preparedness, Infrastructure Protection and Public Assistance in Recovery, including providing Technical Assistance to FEMA for rebuilding following 6 Natural Disasters in 4 states.
- Chosen by American Society of Civil Engineers as a State Representative to work with U.S. Senators and Congress in Washington D.C. on National and Local Infrastructure advancement.
